State Specific Grants and Scholarships
Follow these steps and click on your state below for state specific grant and scholarship opportunities!
No matter which state you live in, college classes are usually very expensive. In addition to the numerous scholarships that are available on our site, it is very easy to find money for college in the way of state grants and state specific scholarships. We want you to get as much financial aid for your class costs as possible! Complete the following steps to maximize the student's potential for state grants, work study, and scholarships:
Step 1: Make sure you have filled out your FAFSA form at https://fafsa.ed.gov/.
The FAFSA form is available for the next fiscal school year beginning January 1st. Fill out the form as soon as possible with approximate amounts of income (and parent's income if the student is still a dependent). This will allow the student to have the best chance for receiving automatic grants to cover the costs of your classes based on financial need and work study funding. You can edit the FAFSA with exact amounts after your taxes are filed. Also, visit the college's financial aid department if there are any special circumstances that are affecting income such as illness, medical bills, job loss, etc.
Step 2: Visit the U.S. Department of Education General Grant Overview for ALL States AND The Federal Student Aid Office
These sites gathers grant opportunities that are available for all states and explain how to obtain and keep grants to cover the cost of college classes.
Step 3: Click the state below that the student resides at or will be attending school at.
These state specific opportunities are usually available from the government departments of the state.
